Why we love it

Brilliant hikes along the Helford river and the coastal path, incredible design and comfort in the treehouse with a great dog-friendly pub a short walk away

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • Sampling the welcome dog biscuits
  • Nearby dog-friendly café and restaurant
  • Long walks on the beach and coastal path

Humans will love

  • The stunning curved design
  • Vinyl vibes from the old record player
  • Easy access to the beautiful Lizard peninsula

The place

Kalmynsi, which means “calm” in Cornish, really lives up to its name. There’s something instantly soothing about the graceful curve of the walls and the simple elegance of the interior. The views from the balcony don’t hurt either and you could spend a wonderfully relaxing day just sipping tea, reading and watching the weather. When night falls, head down to ground level, light the fire bowl and wait for the stars to come out. If all that lounging around gets the dog a bit bored, then take off for lunch or dinner at the dog-friendly Black Swan, five minutes’ walk away, hikes and wild swimming along the Helford or a visit to Dollar Cove at Gunwalloe, which is dog-friendly all year round.
