Our top dog-friendly cottages in Cornwall by the sea

Little Acre
It's not surprising that Little Acre looks like a French Bastide, with its stone walling and vines that crawl the spaces between the windows. Wicker chairs adorn the space either side of the front door, for afternoon cups of tea and tipples. Just under nine miles away, is the town of Falmouth - cobbled streets lined with quirky vintage shops and boutiques, independent micro-breweries, cafés aplenty, with an ever-changing vibe that caters both to the youth that pour into the town to attend the arts university there, and the existing population. As a coastal town, it's also unsurprising to learn that there's two large water sports centres with a variety of the usual activities on offer. In fact, Falmouth was even voted as one of the best places to live in the UK by The Sunday Times! So, if you're looking for a picturesque town with plenty to do, then Falmouth should definitely be on your radar.

The Old Barn at Lower Tresithick
The Old Barn at the Lower Tresithick Farmstead is a special place. Just one mile from the sea, it offers the best of both worlds - the peace and quiet of the country, combined with easy access to all the best that the coast has to offer. The south-facing decking is the perfect spot to relax with a good book or enjoy a meal al fresco, and the large dining table is ideal for winter feasts. Loe Beach is just a short walk away and is perfect for watersports lovers - you can hire kayaks, boats or take lessons. Or if you just want to relax, you can enjoy a cup of coffee – or something stronger, in the nautical-themed café on the beach. Either way, The Old Barn is the perfect place to escape from it all.

Head Groom’s House at Boconoc
Cornwall is a stunning county in the southwest of England, and Boconnoc Estate is a beautiful part of it. The estate comprises of grand gardens, woodland and farmland, as well as a stunning manor house. It's the perfect place to spend a few days if you're looking to get away from it all and escape to some peace and tranquillity. There are plenty of great walks to enjoy around the estate, and you'll be pleased to know that dogs are very welcome too. The coastal path, beaches and riverbanks are all within easy reach, so there are plenty of options for days out.

Round House East
Roundhouse East is a great base for exploring Cornwall's many highlights. The building itself is from the 1820s, but it has been given a bright contemporary flair. The secluded coves of Great and Little Molunan are both great for snorkelling and also allow dogs. You're also within walking distance of the South West Coast Path, so you can explore the beautiful Roseland peninsula at your leisure. Pendower and Carne beach is also dog-friendly all year round, although you are asked to keep dogs on leads during summer and when the beach is busy.
