Our top four favourite dog-friendly cottages in Cornwall

Little Acre
Little Acre is the perfect dog-friendly cottage for a family summer holiday. With its stone walling and vines, it looks like a French Bastide, and it has an idyllic English garden, which is dog-friendly, and enclosed. The kitchen has an Aga, and there is also a BBQ out back. If it rains, you can go to the library room off the lounge and check out the books and walking maps. The cottage is in Cornwall, which is the perfect place for a dog-friendly holiday. There are plenty of walks to take your dog on and beaches where they can run free. You will also find plenty of dog-friendly pubs and cafes, so you can enjoy a meal or a drink with your canine friend by your side.

The Old Barn at Lower Tresithick
The Old Barn is the perfect getaway for dog-owners who want to enjoy the best of both the country and the coast. The cottage is on the Lower Tresithick Farmstead, just under a mile from the sea. With 12 acres of farmland, woods, and fields to explore, dogs will have plenty of space to stretch their legs – when they’re not on the lead in the appropriate areas! There’s also an outdoor dog wash, for when they inevitably enjoy it TOO much. The cottage itself has a south-facing decking with a view over the Cornish apple orchard. It's easy to imagine yourself thumbing through a bestseller on the sun deck, or dining al fresco after making use of the BBQ on sultry summer nights, and even easier to imagine a winter feast at the large dining table indoors. Whether you're looking for a relaxing break or an adventure-filled holiday, The Old Barn is the perfect dog-friendly cottage for you.

Head Groom’s House at Boconoc
Right in the heart of Cornwall, Boconnoc Estate is the perfect place to spend a few days with your dog. With miles of dog-friendly walks through the estate and surrounding areas, there's plenty of opportunity to explore. The Head Groom's House is a dog-friendly cottage on the estate, and the perfect base for your stay. From here, you can easily access all the estate's amenities, as well as the coastal path, beaches and river Fowey for scenic days out. So come and enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer with your four-legged friend by your side.

Round House East
Roundhouse East is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. The building dates back to the 1820s, but has been decorated with bright, contemporary flair. The secluded coves of Great and Little Molunan are both dog-friendly and great for snorkelling. If you're looking for a bite to eat, the village shop is well-stocked with Da Bara bread, and you can buy fresh fish from the Curgurrell Farm Shop. The dog-friendly New Inn is just 150 yards away, and if you're looking for something really special, The Hidden Hut is about an hour's walk along the coast. Their feast nights, served at a long table on the sand, are rightly legendary. Roundhouse East is the perfect place to stay if you want to come home covered in sand and mud! There are towels and an outdoor tap available so you can wash off your boots and paws before coming inside.
