Dog-friendly cottages with enclosed gardens

If there’s one thing we know guests and their dogs love (because we asked), it’s an enclosed garden. Whether you’re hoping to let the hound out in the morning for their… morning rituals, or it’s not having to keep a permanent eye on them when you’re crafting some ingredients into a smoky masterpiece on the BBQ – an enclosed garden is an incredibly useful feature. So, if you can’t imagine going away without one, you’re in luck, because here’s our collection of our places with enclosed gardens.

About Paws & Stay dog-friendly cottages with enclosed gardens

Where did Paws & Stay come from?

Our team of travel experts at Sawday’s and Canopy & Stars have spent decades between them exploring the UK and further, finding incredible places to stay – and in the process, discovered something odd. We found that many places that were supposed to be dog-friendly, felt a little more ‘dog-tolerant’. What cheered us up however, was discovering plenty of places where dog-friendly meant what it said on the tin. And with that in mind, we decided to put them all on one website.

What makes a place right for Paws & Stay

What makes somewhere dog-friendly seems to be different to everyone – and we should know – we asked all our guests! But we did find a few common themes. We found people didn’t mind the odd room off limits, or a sofa here and there needing a throw before it became cuddle-central. What did matter, however, was that the dog was considered in as many elements of the stay as possible, and to be greeted with a warm welcome to all two and four-legged guests.

How do we know each place is good enough?

Our team all have a similar condition – itchy feet. Our offices are almost always missing someone, if not multiple people, because we’re almost always out on the road in search of new spaces, checking places out that have applied, or just re-inspecting them to make sure they’re still up to scratch. So, when we say dog-friendly, we don’t mean we think, we mean when we took our dogs on to inspect the place, they were very friendly. The same goes for enclosed gardens, and we know how important they are to nearly all of our guests - because they told us so.

Where will I find Paws & Stay places?

Paws & Stay is barely a pup, at only a few years old, but what we lack in age, we make up for in experience, from our work on other brands like Sawday’s and Canopy & Stars. At the moment, we’re still building our collection of dog-friendly spaces, and it’s slow going being this discerning – but what it does mean, is each space is thoroughly vetted so you’ll love it as much as we did. New places are added all the time, and the collection is growing quickly, but you’ll find somewhere to stay on opposite ends of the UK, and everywhere in between.
