The place
Asphodel Cottage is the sort of calm, dreamlike place where you could spend a few days without really knowing where the time had gone. You could let an afternoon slide by lazing in the cosy lounge, soaking in the big roll top or foraging in the garden for apples, plums and fresh herbs to flavour dinner, and there’s a great dog-friendly pub 20 minutes’ walk away if you don’t fancy cooking at all. The surrounding countryside keeps the casual feel going, with gentle strolls in the Cotswolds and along riverbanks mixed with visits to the peaceful villages of golden stone that the area is famous for.
