The place
Space is the name of the game here. The amount of space there is to hand, how well it’s filled with useful features and stunning décor – and even the empty space left purposefully for you to fill with seven other guests. You could be tempted to simply luxuriate in your room, the well-decorated living spaces, or the large dining room where you can sit with everyone for group feasts. If you want a moment to yourself, then head to the cinema room, escape to the hot tub, or even the sauna outside, to enjoy a little peace and quiet. It’s not just nighttime that’s easy to relish here either, daytime offers an outdoor shower to start the day, and breakfast al fresco in the sunshine.

You should know
Clean and dry dogs are allowed upstairs - there's dog drying robes and a stairgate you can use when you come back from soggy walks
To keep late noise to a minimum, the hot tub, table tennis and speakers shouldn't be used after 2230
Well-behaved dogs are allowed to be left on their own at Bar-K
Hatt Playing Field, six-minute walk. Head down to this enclosed field for a good run around. You'll also find poo bags, dog bowls and dog toys supplied!
If you’re looking to explore the locale, there’s Saltash, Tavistock, Calstock, Launceston and Liskeard, all within a short drive, if you’re thinking small market towns. You can amble cobbled streets, check out castles and historic sites, and drop into little cafés and pubs to refuel
If you’re thinking a little bigger, make the 20-minute drive to Plymouth, where you can get your fix of arts, culture and shopping. The city is very dog friendly, with bars, restaurants and pubs all throughout the city opening their doors to our four-legged friends. There are plenty of parks for a restroom break, and best of all you can take the Cremyll Ferry across the Plymouth Sound for maximum views (dogs on leads are very welcome)
It’s impossible to be in Cornwall without thinking about visiting beaches – and of course, there are plenty to choose from. There’s Whitsand Bay, Seaton, and Portwrinkle, all within a half-hour’s drive. There’s also Widemouth Bay, Watergate Bay and Lantic Bay – all around an hour’s drive! Each one has dog-friendly access all year round, so treat your hound to a few ear-flapping sprints down the sand
If someone’s looking up at you with big puppy eyes, you might be tempted to take on a few walks whilst you’re here – and there are some great options. Just a half hour’s drive to the north east there’s the Tamar Valley AONB, which has a range of walks, but one great walk in particular is the Kit Hill Country Park walk, which covers 400 acres and includes an abandoned quarry to explore, and a summit to overlook the surrounding area
Pubs and cafés aren’t in short supply either. Nearby there’s The Crooked Inn, which is just a couple of miles down the road – and serves a full seasonal à la carte menu, as well as Sunday roasts. Another winner a couple of miles away is The Notter Bridge Inn, or The Rising Sun – which occasionally puts on live music and pizza nights

Booking guide
Every booking at Paws & Stay is about the dog. You will see how many dogs are allowed at a place on their page and in search results and then you can add them during the booking process. While your dogs are more than welcome, of course, our owners hope you’ll still make sure your dogs are well behaved. There may occasionally be rooms (and furniture) that are off limits to dogs, but not to an extent that will impact your stay. If they can’t be in the room with you, they’ll have a lovely, cosy spot of their own. You can see any restrictions in the 'For the Dog' section of a place.
How to book
All you need to do is select an available check-in date, underlined in gold on the calendar, and see what options appear for your stay. If the stay is within ten weeks of the date on which you’re booking, you’ll need to pay the full cost of the stay. If it’s further than ten weeks away, you’ll have the option of paying a 25% deposit.
When you book, you’ll be able to use the email address you supply to log in and make any further payments whenever you like. We will notify you when your balance is due and be in touch if it goes unpaid past that date.
If you have any questions about a place, you can email us on bookings@pawsandstay.co.uk. Call us during office hours (Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays, 0900 to 1800) if you have any problems with booking and we can usually sort things out over the phone.
Paying your balance
If you paid a deposit when you booked, we’ll let you know when your balance is due, but you can log in to your account, which is automatically created when you book, to pay it at any time. You can also log in and pay off a little of your balance at a time.
Deposits and balance payments
If your booking is made more than ten weeks in advance of your arrival date, you’ll have the option to pay a 25% deposit. The full balance will then be taken from the same card you pay with. You’ll be able to pay the balance on a different card at any time by giving us a call. If your balance payment fails, don’t worry. Your booking will not be cancelled but we will need to get in touch with you within a week to secure the balance payment.
Terms & conditions
We’ll always try and find a solution that works for you and our owners if there’s any issue with your booking, but you can read our full [Ts&Cs](https://www.pawsandstay.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/) here.
