Why we love it
Your perfect hideaway in Cumbria, take outdoor baths, read in the armchair by the fire – and forget the rest of the world
"Felt like I had miles to myself"
I loved how private it felt and the fact I didn’t see anyone. Completely secluded and I felt like I had miles to myself without any other visible buildings or neighbours.

The place
Tucked out of the way and right on the edge of the Scottish border, Beckside could easily become your 'once-a-year spot’. You’re about as far north in England as you can get, and it’s all rolling fields and forest around here. It’s peaceful, private, and your dog will love having their own garden to run around in. You're unlikely to see anyone at all at Beckside, but if you do fancy a day out in the 'real' world, there are some great options nearby. The coast is within easy reach and Carlisle and Kielder aren’t too far either. But, if you want to luxuriate in your own (and the dog’s) company, take short walks in the local area – and enjoy everything on offer at your place. The shower’s a tiled rainfall affair, the kitchen is modest and mighty, and the lounge – a masterpiece in downtime. Outside, you’ll find the double baths in the private garden, need we say more?
