Why we love it
Right on the water, this riverside retreat has the perfect spot to enjoy wide-stretching views, quiet evenings by the firepit, and adventures on the water
"Such an incredible location!"
We had an amazing stay, it was such an incredible location! For dogs that enjoy splashing around, the proximity to the water is a paradise. Thoughtful touches like dog beds, bowls, and a welcome treat make pups feel just as pampered as their humans. And the tranquil setting, away from city noise, is perfect for dogs who thrive in peaceful surroundings.

The place
Your very own private world, right on the waterfront – Bowcombe Boathouse is the spot to retreat to and enjoy some peaceful downtime. With some of the best waterfront views on the Kingsbridge Ria, you can step out onto the balcony to the sun rising opposite and start the day bathing in light. When you’re not lounging around enjoying the views from a comfy deckchair, there are activities at every turn. If the weather’s good and you've got a salty sea dog, you might like to borrow the kayaks to explore the water and even head upstream to a riverside pub, or take the dog out on coastal walks and beach runs. Whatever incredible seafood you pick up whilst you’re out, you’ll be heading back to cook it in a spacious modern kitchen, then enjoy it in the fresh air, or snuggled up together by a crackling wood burner. When the sun begins to dip, you can raid the “welcome gins and rum” and toast to the perfect spot by the water.
