Tucked away amongst miles of countryside, this is the perfect spot for coastal adventures, hikes in Northumberland National Park, and hot tub dips

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • Doing happy circles in the enclosed garden
  • Joining you on trips to the beach!
  • Snuffling around the nearby woods

Humans will love

  • Toasting marshmallows over the firepit
  • Sinking into a hot tub with incredible countryside views!
  • Stargazing in Northumberland’s dark skies

The place

Bracken is just a 20-minute drive from the sea one way, and 20 minutes to Northumberland National Park the other. But the best part? How peaceful it is. It’s just miles and miles of countryside to explore with your dog, and worlds away from city hustle and bustle. In the day, you will likely be spent exploring windswept coastline, the many, many castles on offer in the area, or even rambling along the trails in the National Park. But your evenings? Retiring back to your own slice of countryside, where the dog can stretch out in the enclosed garden, and you can kick back with a marshmallow crisping over the fire, something chilled – and the promise of a relaxing soak in the hot tub under Northumberland's starry skies.

In the neighbourhood

  • Walk from the door: a gravel track runs for five miles through the farm, passing by the 14 windmills on site. Just follow the path for a nice long wander!
  • Bamburgh Beach & Castle, 25-minute drive. With the town, castle and beach all close enough together to leave the car and explore, this is a great spot for sandy strolls and a warming cup of tea.
  • Hepburn Woods, 25-minute drive. Hop on over to Hepburn Woods for a stroll with the hound in tow (or more like you in tow) and explore the trails. Just keep an eye out for horse riders and mountain bikers!
  • Tankerville Arms, 20-minute drive. If you’re in the mood for classic pub fare, and a roaring fire, then this is the spot for you. A 19th century coaching inn, they focus on local produce, and real ales. And are, of course, dog friendly.
