Why we love it

A beautiful cottage in Eryri National Park, with a hot tub in the enclosed garden and the whole of Wales as your playground

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • Snuffling around the enclosed courtyard and garden
  • Curling up on the special dog blankets
  • Dodging the spray from the outdoor hose

Humans will love

  • Taking in the impressive views from the patio
  • Soaking in the wood-fired hot tub
  • Relaxing by the wood burner at the end of the day

The place

It’s only a short bound out of the gate and into the wilds of Eryri National Park (aka Snowdonia), where your dog will put in more miles than you can handle, if you let them. You’ll find lovely walks around you and some great dog-friendly pubs and restaurants in the local village, Trefriw, less than a mile down the road. Once you’re done exploring for the day, you can curl up or stretch out in the cosy surrounds of this lovely cottage, relaxing by the wood burner under the original beams or sitting out in the enclosed garden, listening to the nearby waterfall with the fire pit and the BBQ giving the evening a smoky glow. The walls and gate of the enclosed garden mean that you can slide into the hot tub with no worries about what your dog is getting up to and steam yourself happy in front of fabulous countryside views.

In the neighbourhood

  • Walk from the door: Turn left out of the gate and walk to either of the local lakes of Llyn Crafnant or Llyn Geirionydd by turning left in the beech woodland and following the footpath signs. Link the two walks into a circular trail that takes around two hours (or longer if you walk around each lake), with a stop for a coffee and cake at the Llyn Crafnant cafe.
  • Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), 30-minute drive. Take on this famous mountain to find new sniffs and impressive views. Perfect for when you REALLY need to tire out the hound!
  • Trefriw, 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk. Amble into the nearby village where you'll find a (free) secure dog field, a local butchers/general store and historic Trefriw Woollen Mill.
  • The Fairy Falls Pub & Hotel, 8-minute drive or 35-minute walk. An incredibly quaint old pub less than a mile away in Trefriw, where you’ll also find Caffi Doti, a great place for cake or a breakfast roll.
  • Betws-y-Coed, 18-minute drive. A lovely little town full of independent shops and cafés, which is well worth a visit and very dog friendly.
