Why we love it
A countryside cabin tucked out of the way, with an enclosed garden and plenty of walks from the door
"So much space to run free and be 100% secure"
Everything about Croeso was dog friendly! Loved the welcome basket and biscuit left in the kitchen. Hosts (including the dog!) were super friendly and welcoming. A huge highlight had to be how secure and secluded it is, I’ve never stayed anywhere before where a dog has had so much space to run free and be 100% secure whilst doing so. Couldn’t fault this trip!

The place
Croeso is at the end of a lane, three miles from the nearest main road. To say you’re out of the way would be an understatement. Sometimes, you just want to relax in your own world – and Croeso’s perfect for that. Adventures are as easy as a short wander or a quick drive: there are plenty of walks straight from the front door, nearby beaches and The Clwydian Range to explore. But if you’re in the mood to settle in and relax, you’re in luck. Race about in the one acre of meadow with the dog, or head over to the veg patch to help yourself to the freshest produce to cook a feast with later. In the evening, make your dog jealous with smoky treats on the BBQ or curl up together on the sofa with a good book, in front of the wood burner.
In the neighbourhood
- Walk from the door: Turn left out of the drive and up the lane to join Offa's Dykes path, which will take you along Moel Arthur, Pen y Cloddiau towards Moel Famau – only some of the Clwydian Range mountains.
- The Dinorben Arms, a six-minute drive. It’s an hour’s walk along Offa’s Dyke Path, or a swift drive to The Dinorben Arms. Pop in for a warm welcome and some classic pub fare.
- Prestatyn Beach, a 36-minute drive. Head out to Prestatyn Beach for wide, north-facing sands. A favourite for sailors and windsurfers, it’s backed by a wide promenade and includes a dog exercise area!
- The White Horse, a ten-minute drive. Just a quick drive, or a lovely walk, it’s worth popping into this dog-friendly pub to sample their European-inspired menu of foodie treats.
