The place

Some of the best holidays in the world can be made by the company you keep – and at Dhunan, it’s all a case of who your bring with you, because you won’t be seeing many other people when you’re out and about exploring this beautiful part of the world. With a population of 5,058, peace, quiet, and a boatload of beautiful vistas and countryside are all yours to explore. When you haven’t taken the 15-minute walk to the beach, headed to a local for incredible food, or set off on an incredible hike straight from the front door, you’ll be back at your space relaxing. Surprisingly spacious, you’ll love crashing on the comfy sofa after a hard day’s exploration, enjoying a coffee out on the deck, or cooking up the local flavour in your generous kitchen. There’s even a shower big enough for two – to wash off salty hair, and for day’s end, a firepit to huddle around that two-and-four-legged guests will love equally.

Parking

You should know

The owners have cats and a dog, and whilst it's unlikely you'll meet them, you might catch a rare furry glimpse (if you're lucky!)
Dogs aren't allowed on the bed or sofa, but they'll love the memory foam bed provided just for them
There isn't livestock on site but due to the wild location, you may come across some when venturing out. Be sure to lead up when appropriate!

One of Scotland's favourite mountains, Beinn Nuis is found in the heart of Arran. This 792-metre peak is dotted with deer and surrounded by awe-inspiring views. It’s an idea to keep the dog on a lead, for your dog's (and the deer’s) safety. Experience the joy of bouncing around the mountain with your four-legged companion
Take on a challenge, with a thrilling climb along the east ridge of Caisteal Abhail, where the famous Witch's Step lies waiting. Wander the ridge, scramble to the summit, and follow the curving northward ridge to Sail an Im, completing a horseshoe route. The best part of a horseshoe ridge is spending most of your time at a peak, taking in breathtaking vistas, and an easy descent to North Glen Sannox
If there’s one thing this area isn’t lacking – it’s good places to eat. Food’s taken very seriously here, possibly only surpassed by a good glass of something. If you’re looking for pre or post-Goatfell food, pop into The Wineport for an expansive menu, and a long drinks list. If you’re looking for good food, but perhaps also a night out, then try The Pierhead Tavern, where the menu boasts options for all, and whisky or gin-tasting nights are common! Both options, of course, are dog friendly.
