The place
Running your hand over the original stonework that shows through at this converted mill gives you a sense of calm that sets the tone of your whole stay. Fingals is a sociable cluster of places to stay, all lovingly converted from various estate buildings by owners Richard and Sheila, where guests wander the lawn and the woodland, lounge by the pool and play a bit of tennis, snooker or croquet as the mood takes them. If your dog needs longer walks you can head along the banks of the Dart, splashing in and out of the water or jumping on the ferry over to Greenway. There are steam train rides, the weekend market in Totnes and crabbing from the village pontoon for wholesome ways to pass the time, as well as secret (and dog friendly of course) beaches that Richard and Sheila can show you how to find.
