The place
When you look closely, every detail at Garrigill Old Sunday School is meticulously crafted, from the soft tones of the lime wash to the placement of plants with their bursts of colour. This is a place where just breezing from room to room is an exercise in long deep sighs. This dog-friendly cottage is found within the North Pennine National Landscape, and with greenery all around, it’s just a short drive or a pleasingly long walk to stretch the legs with the dog in tow. Or, you can stay close, looking out to the neighbouring farms to see animals gently plodding about. Whether you’re active, or restful, it doesn’t matter. You’ll love spending all day in, or just returning to the kitchen – cooking up treats for yourself, and a wide-eyed hound, lying about on the leather sofa with a good book – or best of all – finishing the day with a long soak in the copper roll-top bath.
