- Exploring the woodland walks on site
- Trotting about off lead on the estate (as long as they’re not escape artists!)

Humans will love
- Trying to not spend all their time in the hot tub
- Takings naps on the suspended chair
- The short drive to some incredible hikes
The place
If basking in fresh Welsh air, lavish comfort, and beautiful design sounds like the break you and your four-legged friend need, then look no further. It’d be much too easy spending all your time here, barely stretching your legs to hop from comfy bed to al fresco dining, to a suspended chair for a mid-morning read or starting on lunch on the BBQ in the garden. Chances are though, when you have the Black Mountains as the backdrop to your views, you’ll be tempted out for a hike that’ll tucker you and your dog out, ready for an evening in the hot tub (you, not the dog). There’s a woodland walk to amble round, and a well-equipped kitchen to cater to all the local produce you can grab in market towns nearby. Whether you’re looking to explore and adventure, or rest and relax, the choice is yours.
In the neighbourhood
- Favourite Walk Nearby: The Cat’s Back, a 20-minute drive, is a circular walk that stretches almost five miles, running the length of the stop of the hill, and back down around the eastern side. It’s pretty exposed up there, so don’t forget warm clothes!
- The Wye Valley AONB, 30-minute drive: Offers the perfect setting for river adventures. With around 16 local companies renting canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, there are plenty of ways to explore the winding River Wye – from North Wales down past the edge of Hereford. Whether you’re paddling, drifting, or cruising, it's a beautiful way to spend the day. Some companies even welcome dogs on board!
- The Gwatkin Red Cow, 40-minute walk: Welcomes dogs in their rustic restaurant. Enjoy a scenic stroll directly from the site via a footpath, and treat yourself to breakfast, lunch, light bites, evening meals or their fantastic Sunday roast.
- Under the Nut Tree, 21-minute drive: Offers a unique supper club-style experience. On Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy a seasonal three-course set menu, showcasing the best local produce cooked over an outdoor fire kitchen. Dogs very welcome.
