The place
The perfect launch pad to explore South Devon, with peaceful rolling countryside and plenty of options for adventures all around. You can head out with the hound in tow for coastal walks, sprints on long sandy beaches, or hikes down paths between patchwork fields. This dog-friendly cabin is also ideal to just kick back and have a few low-key days away. Aside from your enclosed garden, you also have a three-acre field beyond for the dog to really stretch their legs. Spend mornings dodging face licks from the dog whilst you do yoga on the deck with the yoga mats provided, sip coffee afterwards on the recliners, and breakfast on the al fresco table. Afternoons can be as simple as cooking up food on the BBQ from the local market towns and after a hearty dinner, if you’ve worked your appetite back up, you can curl up by the wood burner, whether you’re two or four legged.
In the neighbourhood
- Walk from the door: It’s very rural round these parts, so if you’re not touring the three-acre field, you can follow any local signposted walk (details in the Guest Welcome Book)
- Ayrmer Cove, 15-minute drive. Head on over to Aymer Cove with the dog for a little jaunt across the sands, to tucker out the hound before exploring the coastline and the local pub at Ringmore.
- The Crabshell Inn, 15-minute drive. With a wide menu that ranges all the way from seafood to ravioli, there’s something for everyone – including a doggy beer for the four-legged friend.
- Beachhouse, 20-minute drive. Right on the water at South Milton Sands, dogs are welcome at the beach all year round, and you can tucker them out before grabbing a bite to eat at Beachhouse – simply seafood takeaway and café.
