The place
Your place is spacious, modern, and open plan – with room for you and the dog to stretch out and rest without tripping over each other. You’ve got a walk-in shower and a modern kitchen to prep a sunny lunch at the al fresco table – and a lounge to laze in, either all day, or just for recovery naps. You and the dog will be kept busy with the local beaches, coastal walks and trips to the dog-friendly pubs, but head a little further and you can explore Woolacombe, Barnstaple, Exmoor and much more. And whatever you end up doing – the day will end in the hot tub!
In the neighbourhood
- Favourite Walk Nearby (10 min drive): Enjoy a scenic walk through ancient woodland in the Heddon Valley, leading to the sea between some of England’s highest cliffs. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, the valley is rich in wildlife, including otters and the rare high brown fritillary butterfly. Don’t miss the restored 19th-century lime kiln on the beach
- Baggy Point, 35-minute drive: Overlooking Croyde beach, and one of North Devon’s best surfing spots, you might spot climbers scaling the cliffs or coasteerers… coasteering. This spot’s maintained by The National Trust and is three paw rated for dogs!
- Bull Point Lighthouse, 35-minute drive: take on the walk to Morte point to the southwest. Known locally as the ‘Seals and Smugglers’ route, we recommend bringing some binoculars, as you might well spot Atlantic seals or porpoises if you’re lucky!
- Dunkery & Horner Wood, 40-minute drive: Take the dogs for a trip around the woods, searching for smells and burning off that excess energy. Just be sure to lead up where necessary.
