Why we love it

With a copper bath, wood-fired hot tub, firepit tripod and enclosed garden, your space has it all, and with forests, rivers and mountains – Wales has everything else

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • Going on adventures to the nearby forest
  • Taking sun dappled naps on the deck
  • Getting a shower in the outdoor washing area

Humans will love

  • A leisurely soak in the copper bathtub
  • Dark sky stargazing from the wood-fired hot tub
  • Taking the dog on walks along the Offa’s Dyke Path

The place

As you drive into this part of Wales, it’s important to have the windows rolled down, to smell the crisp, fresh air as it rolls over you – with the green hills as a backdrop. By the time you’ve arrived, you’ll be ready to let those shoulders drop. Quabb’s Cabin has the picture-perfect deck to sit out on, and watch sunrises and sunsets, as well as a back deck, where your dog will either be merrily bounding around the enclosed garden, napping gently on the warm wood, or watching closely and jealously as you cook on the firepit before dining at the al fresco table. An easy walk can take you onto Offa’s Dyke, while a short journey in the car offers adventures in all directions, with woodland, hikes, and National Landscapes in easy reach – all incredible days out with the hound. If you and the dog are feeling like homebodies however, stay in, take dips in the copper bath, or wood-fired hot tub, short strolls in the local area, and enjoy the fine local food together.

In the neighbourhood

  • Walk from the door: Head down the drive, turn left and follow the lane to the T junction. Take a right and keep going for about 1/8 mile and the step on to Offa's Dyke, from there, make your walk as long or short as you like in either direction.
  • Radnor Forest, 20-minute drive: Head out for a wander at Radnor Forest, just seven miles away. With a few kilometres of trails to explore, and the Water-Break-its-Neck waterfall to discover, it’s a great place to burn off some energy with the dog.
  • Elan Valley, 40-mintue drive: Take the drive out to The Elan Valley to find reservoirs, aqueducts and hundreds of animals. The area is 80% SSSI and is the perfect place to explore with a hound.
  • The Horse and Jockey Inn, 7-minute drive: Take the short drive, or long walk to The Horse and Jockey Inn for an intimate pub setting, with classic low beams and historic feel. With plenty of local beers on tap, it’s a great spot for a quiet pint and a bite to eat.
