The place
You’ll find River Cottage where the Chainley Burn River makes its last run before melting into the River Tyne, in the tiny village of Bardon Mill. Far away from city living, this is the perfect spot to settle into a slower pace of living with the dog for a few days. Spend your time either hopping out to explore South-West Northumberland and further afield – finding country houses, vast national nature reserves, or tiny forests. Or simply wander down the road for pub lunches, take short walks or lounge in River Cottage itself for some R&R. At this dog-friendly cottage, it’s all about comfort, there’s a private deck with a table for al fresco dining, an outdoor bar and an outdoor swing seat, all with views of the river whilst you eat. You’ll also find the firepit down by the water for a snug night under the stars.
