The place

Right at the bottom of the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), not more than a handful of miles to the coast, you’ll find the Snowdonia Hideaway surrounded by rolling patchwork fields – with a breathtaking view of the mountains in the distance. This place is perfect for those looking for a spot of seclusion, and an incredible selection of walks to take at their leisure. There are coastal strolls in easy reach, wanders over the fields, forests to explore and even mountains to climb! There are so many adventures to take on, but it’ll still be a hard choice between venturing out and staying at home, with the gorgeous traditional slate barn conversion to relax in. There are views in every direction, which makes for a shoulder-dropping dip in the wood-fired hot tub just outside your place, whilst your four-legged friend snuffles about on the grass!

You should know

  • No dogs on the bed please! But they are allowed on the sofa, with blankets
  • You may meet the owner's small dog and cat that live on site
  • The enclosed garden backs on to a field which may have sheep roaming, they may be visible but dogs won't be able to get to them
  • The track to the house is not suitable for low sports cars or large camper vans
  • There may be the occasional shoot on nearby during winter, so keep this in mind if you have a nervous dog

In the neighbourhood

  • The Peniarth Arms, 25-minute walk. A family-owned dog-friendly pub serving classic food. Take a seat by the wood burner and settle in.
  • Tywyn Beach, eight-minute drive. A gorgeous stretch of beach to explore, no dog restrictions on either side of the main area.
  • Steam train ride on The Talyllyn Railway, eight-minute drive. Dogs are welcome in 1st and 3rd class carriages. Tickets cost £4 for dogs and they get their own doggy goody bag!
  • Saltmarsh Kitchen, seven-minute drive. Stroll along the coast and then reward yourself with a bite at this restaurant with a diverse menu.
