    • The sleepover pack with gravy bones, blankets and other useful things
    • Curling up at your feet by the wood burner
    • Bracing walks at Sunnyside and Cullen beaches

    Humans will love

    • The fun and flair of the dairy-themed design
    • Firing up the pizza oven and hot tub
    • Having coastal hiking and downhill biking all within half an hour

    The place

There’s a real joy to the way the dairy history has been woven into this space, with milk churns and collection jars forming everything from seating to lighting. Even touches like the cocktail bar and the record player have been incorporated with style and the hot tub, hammock and pizza oven outside make this the perfect place for a few days of relaxing indoor/outdoor life. The welcome hamper will give both you and the dog a taste of great local produce and then you can decide how to enjoy this stunning region. If you’re the active type, then take on biking trails and stunning coastal walks, with distillery visits and fantastic food at smoky locals to cap the day or provide some more laid-back entertainment.

    In the neighbourhood

    • The Whisky Trail is not so much an official tour as an acknowledgement of the fact that there are enough distilleries in the area that some of them have their own category – Speyside malts. Glendronach and Glenfiddich are on the doorstep and worth a visit
    • The Flying Stag at Braemar is part of the fabulous Fife Arms Hotel and a great dog-friendly stop for food and drink. The Kale Yard Bistro (part of Boat House Hotel) has absolutely divine food with much home-grown produce from their walled garden
    • The Copper Dog has a really warm and welcoming staff to both dogs and their humans. Dogs are welcome in both the outdoor and indoor seating areas. Their food is locally sourced and delicious.
    • Cullen, Sandend and Findhorn are the owners particular favourite beaches, along with Sunnyside for the lovely rock pools, although Sunnyside takes a mile of walking from the car park to reach
    • The Glenlivet Estate has fabulous mountain bike trails and Tarland Trails is fabulous for children while still being a challenge for adults with its graded trails situated in Drummy Woods, Tarland
    • The Lecht winter snow skiing and summer outdoor sports centre is only an hour away in the car and Aviemore’s slopes are only a little further away
