Why we love it

A short walk to the sea, an enclosed paddock for the dog and a hot tub for you

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • The 20-minute walk to the sea
  • Finding the treats left for them!
  • Stretching their legs in the four-acre fenced paddock

Humans will love

  • Melting into the hot tub with your partner
  • Sweating your troubles away in the sauna
  • Reading an afternoon away in the bath

The place

Feel like a main character at Yr Ydlan, kicking back inside the whitewashed walls of a cottage, just 20 minutes’ walk from the sea. When you’re not on ear-flapping walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, or zooming in the enclosed dog paddock, you might be reading a novel in the bath, or popping into the walk-in shower after a fresh dip in the sea. If coffee and culture is on the menu, there are plenty of market towns and little villages about, but Cardigan is just round the corner at a 20-minute drive. Head down to explore the town, and even the castle – with the dog, stopping for a long lunch or just a pit stop at the superb Crwst Café. There’s no need to do much of anything if you’re not in the mood, so just kick back on the terrace, find something chilled to drink in the sunshine, with a sleepy dog at your feet, and let the afternoon slip away.
