Why we love it

Right by the River Severn, kick back in comfort in a light and airy cabin just outside Shrewsbury, and enjoy a BBQ in the garden

What you'll love

Dogs will love

  • Joining you on the sofa or bed (on a throw)
  • Heading out on the riverside walk from the door
  • Coming on a dog-friendly pub trip

Humans will love

  • Sipping their morning coffee by the picture windows
  • An afternoon barbequing in the garden
  • Heading out to nearby National Trust spaces

The place

Sat up high, you’ve a great view from the giant picture windows that run all along one side of the Boathouse Lodge. Filled with light, it’s a bright and roomy space to spend a few days relaxing with the dog by your side. Found just outside of Shrewsbury, you’re metres from the River Severn, surrounded by miles of fields and dots of woodland – but close enough to visit the town for its Tudor buildings, parks and restaurants and cafés. Not to mention the National Trust spaces, nature reserves and woodlands. When you’re kicking back at your space with the dog, enjoy an afternoon in the garden barbequing and enjoying the food al fresco – before gearing up to take on one of the many walks straight from the front door.
