The place
Surrounded by Northumberland National Park, there’s a stunning view at every turn at Dipper Cottage, from the moment you look out of the window in the morning to the time you’re eating dinner outside on the picnic bench – you’re staring out at miles of hillside and conifer forest. The dog will be spoilt for choice, with an enclosed garden to explore, a play field to romp in, and of course, miles and miles of walks straight from the door to adventure along. It’d be easy to stay close to the place for short wanders, but there’s nearby Windy Gyle to summit or Linhope Waterfall to find if you fancy something a little further. At your place, everything’s set up for a few days of quiet calm, with soft, collected and beautifully styled interiors. From the four-poster bed to the wood burner in the lounge – there’s a spot for everyone to kick back and relax.
In the neighbourhood
- Walk from the door: Head out of your front door, up the grass cut path above you and follow the path through the woodlands. Cross the gravel track and continue on again through woodland until you reach another gravel track, turn left and follow the loop back around into Kidlandlee
- The Star Inn, 14-minute drive: The Star Inn serves a range of pub classics, specials and, most importantly, has a wood-fired kitchen for serving pizzas. Take the short drive to settle in with a bite to eat with the dog by your side
- Alnmouth Beach, 1-hour drive: Just an hour’s drive away, Alnmouth Beach has a wide, sandy bay to explore with your four-legged friend. Spend the afternoon chasing each other up and down the coast, and finish off at the nearby Red Lion pub
- The Three Wheat Heads, 30-minute drive: Serving up a huge range of dishes, The Three Wheat Heads is a great option to head to. Alongside being welcome in the bar, dogs are also welcome in the huge beer garden.
