The place
If there’s one thing you want from a few days’ break, it’s a home away from home – and Trevigue Cottage delivers just that. With a comfy cottage interior, complete with ceiling beams, exposed brick and furnishings that make it feel personal and lived in, it’s ready to let you relax straight from the off. Found just a ten-minute walk from the sea, you’ll be able to smell the salt on the air from your large garden – and admire the rolling hillside as the dog makes happy laps. With a coastal walk on the doorstep in the morning, the afternoon is all yours to go a little further for more of the beaches up and down this stretch of coast. Or of course, sleepy fishing villages and market towns, with a happy hound in tow. When the day’s adventures are finished, nip home for a bath, followed by a nap on the sofa (on a blanket) with the dog.

- The Cabin Café, 35-minute walk: Serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea all year round, The Cabin Café is just a stone’s throw from the beach at Crackington, making it an ideal place for a long walk and an afternoon on the sand.
- Widemouth Bay, 20-minute drive: Widemouth Bay, 15-minute drive: With nearly two miles of sand to stroll, this is a great place for windswept walks and afternoons in the sunshine with the dog.
