About Paws & Stay dog-friendly holidays in Northumberland

What’s your pedigree?

When you’re looking for a dog, pedigree can end up an important thing to find out, but getting a non-purebred is just as wonderful. When it comes to using a travel company, it’s almost always important to know. We used our 25+ years of experience of running two renowned companies, Sawday’s and Canopy & Stars, to sniff out new places to travel and stay that are truly dog friendly. You know, if you’re travelling with Paws & Stay, your dog will love it just as much as you.

Will my dog actually like Northumberland?

Well, have you asked? Silliness aside, dogs of course are adorably thrilled being taken almost anywhere, but if you’re wondering if there’s enough to entertain them, rest assured, they’ll be doggone delighted. There are mountains to be dragged up by your hound, castles to prance about in the grounds of, firesides to nap by in ancient pubs in little market towns, cities to explore for dog parks and new friends to meet, and even many dog-friendly outdoor activities, like stand-up paddleboarding that you can take your dog to! Will your dog like Northumberland? No, they’ll love it.

How do we know each place is good enough?

Very good question. Just like our sister brands, we believe there’s only one way we could ever dream to recommend a stay. If we’d been there ourselves. Every single place we take on board has been personally inspected, and unlike our sister brands, we bring a dog along to every one – to make sure it’s good enough to give our hounds… paws…. for thought. We meet the owners, bounce (carefully and respectfully) on the beds, dip a toe in the hot tubs and baths, and make sure at your stay’s end, you’re checking next year’s availability.
