Dog-friendly holidays for Adventurers

You know those dogs, the ones who bound up a mountain like it’s nothing or dart through woodland trails like they’re on an obstacle course? We call them Adventurers because they’re often happier being outside than in. They like holidays where you can head off on walks straight from the door, especially in National Parks where the trails are endless and wild. We’ve rounded up the best places in our collection to take your Adventurer, where both of you will find wild lands to explore!

About Paws & Stay dog-friendly holidays for Adventurers

Where did Paws & Stay come from?

We’ve not appeared out of nowhere – quite the opposite in fact. After spending years exploring the UK and Europe with Sawday’s and Canopy & Stars, we learned some important stuff about dog-friendly places to stay. Most importantly, there’s not enough of them! So, we founded a company dedicated to fetching the best dog-friendly holidays. Since 2021, we’ve been sniffing them out all over the UK!

What makes a place right for Paws & Stay?

There are a few things. Our most important factor is you! We asked, you answered. We found out what sort of things you’re looking for in a dog-friendly holiday. You suggested enclosed gardens, toys, or water bowls or blankets for the dog. You liked to see walks from the front door, or a nearby spot to stretch the legs. We turned your answers into our very own tick-list.

How do we know each place is good enough?

Some companies like to say that they that they inspect every place they bring on board – but that can mean they take a look at the pictures or do an online tour. We actually go with a human inspector and a dog inspector (of course) to get a proper feel for the place. We keep an eye out for the kind of stuff that you’ll both love to see when you go away for a few days.

What makes the perfect holiday for Adventurers?

Adventurers are often found where the UK gets wildest! That means the sort of places they love can be found near National Parks or AONBs. Near woodland, or moor, or by coast or river. They’re found where the action’s at, where they can go bounding in endless grass. And there’s also a good chance they’ll need a spot with an outdoor tap for those toes at day’s end!
